The PEG Los Telares is a classic on the island’s tourist routes, as it not only has a great variety of local products and handicrafts in its shops, but also houses the largest private collection of antiques on the island in its exhibition halls. Audioguided visits from €4.50/person. Visits with wine, cheese and gofio tasting for 14,50€

Agulo

The balcony over the Sea

To the northeast of the Island, between Hermigua and Vallehermoso is Agulo, one of the most emblematic places of the Island La Gomera. Called the “balcony overlooking the sea”, due to its strategic position in a natural depression, it offers views to visitors to the Teide volcano of the island of Tenerife. A paneled route invites us to visit its streets by foot.

Location

El Convento de Santo Domingo (Dominican Convent)

This convent gives name to the neighbourhood of El Convento and is also the heart of Hermigua village. It is the historic center, built in the 17th Century. Several ancient houses are still standing and inhabited, as well as the church, built in a Late Romanic style. Part of this nucleus of old buildings is our old emblematic manor house Los Telares (access only for guests), where guests can also enjoy our gardens and swimming-pool.

Location

La Torre del Conde (Count's Tower)

Declared of Cultural Interest. It is the best preserved medieval fortress in The Canary Islands. Built around 1470, although reformed in the 16th Century, its predominant purpose was to fight the island's internal insurgencies. It currently houses an exhibition of historical cartography of the island of La Gomera.

Location

The Davit of Hermigua (Natural Pool)

Now a natural swimming pool, the columns of the old davit of Hermigua are still standing tall. One of the many jibs in the North of La Gomera, this four-column construction on the sea is undoubtedly the most striking. This is where the bananas destined for the United Kingdom through London's Canary Wharf were loaded.

Location

Archeological Museum

This small museum shows how the aborigines lived on the island, their way of life and how they used natural resources to live; their settlements, the characteristics of their social system, their culture, politics and their religion.

Location

Casa de Colón (Columbus' House)

17th century Villa designed around a courtyard with an upper corridor. Inside is a permanent exhibition of Latin American indigenous figures. It is told that Christopher Columbus was here in one of his first trips to America, although it is something for which there is no documented proof.

Location
Ceramica aborigen

"Las Loceras" Pottery Center

This small gallery was opened by the joint effort of the potters of El Cercado, where most if not all the traditional pottery of the island is made. Here you can see and buy the gomeran traditional pottery, handmade with ancient aborigins techniques without potter's wheel.

Location

Palm Syrup Information Center

Like aboriginal ceramics and whistling, the extraction of palm honey is one of the legacies that have remained in use in La Gomera since the pre-european times on La Gomera. For this reason alone, it also deserves its own visitors' centre.
